Mad about Smurfs

24 Oct

Smurfs were a big part of growing up – I had a whole little brown suitcase full of them (it helped that my Dad owned a BP petrol station at the time and they were the distributors of the smurfs back in the day!). The Smurfs used to be one of my favourite  TV programmes – remember the tune…. and just to prove my love for them… anyone remember Gargamel’s cat’s name… ?

So… with the come back of these cute little blue people here are some cute ideas… (love that the first two are local ladies 🙂

Tracy from Scrapkits threw her 9 year old the most gorgeous Smurf party this weekend. You can check out more photos and ideas over at her blog and download these cupcake toppers that she did over here (as well as some Smurf smores packaging…) Don’t you love the blue Smurf juice – a few drops of food colouring added to lemonade did the trick.

And then I also saw these gorgeous cake pops from Creative Cakepops

Wouldn’t this be a cute t-shirt to wear to a smurf party!

Cute smurf on this cake from The Icing on the Cake

Ha ha, and for the knitteres… here’s a pattern for you available for sale on Ravelry

ps… Gargamel’s cat’s name is Azrael of course…

Thanks for the mention Jude, wish I’d known about Creative Cakepops, they’re too cute & if only I could knit…. maybe it’s time I spent more time with Chantal 🙂

It makes me so happy seeing all the smurf stuff – they were definitely some of my childhood friends!
